On Tuesday 4th December, NRPSI along with representatives from the nine organisations of Professional Interpreters for Justice ( PIfJ ) Campaign, attended a meeting with the Minister for Justice, Helen Grant MP. The Minister was accompanied by officials Sean Palmer (Lead Senior Official and replacement to Martin Jones) and Nick Lonergan. It was a milestone meeting during which the Minister expressed her wish to work positively with PIfJ as she valued the profession and the good work of the professional membership organisations. She voiced aspirations to get things right. PIfJ has been asked to write a proposal for the establishment of working groups, which will be submitted to the Justice Minister within 14 days.
