Information for Clients of Interpreting Services

The NRPSI is the key contact point for the professional public service interpreting profession. NRPSI’s core role as an independent voluntary regulator is to protect the public by ensuring that they receive quality interpreting services.

We ensure that all interpreters on our Register have the recognised qualifications, meet the set benchmark standards and abide by our Code of Professional Conduct.

The clients of interpreters and the public benefit from being able to search the online Register for a qualified interpreter free-of-charge, safe in the knowledge that all Registrants are quality assured and accountable.

We provide an email newsletter for Website Users that includes guidance on how to work with interpreters, latest news on how public services are managing language services and information on relevant public policies.

We publish an Annual Review which analyses the languages and skills offered by the Registrants, their geographical distribution and also reports on the complaints our disciplinary panels have considered.

Clients of interpreters are requested to check the NRPSI Photo ID Card every time that a Registrant presents for a job.

This section of the NRPSI website is to help clients of interpreters find the information they need to search the Register or make a complaint. You might also want to consult our FAQs.
